Muddy Bottom 4x4 is a club run by off-road enthusiasts to improve off-road skills / recovery skills all in a natural environment. We are a family orientated club incorporating some extreme off-roading for the more adventurous nutter !!!! All of our marshals / staff are extremely friendly and helpful should you have any questions regarding any aspect of off-roading.
Location
Muddy Bottom 4x4 is extremely fortunate to be located within the 1500 acre 'Minstead Manor' Estate. Located just off Junction 1 of M27, the site comprises of all aspects of off-roading from bomb hole wood, river & ford crossings, clay holes, steep hills, treacherous bog areas, axle twisting obstacles, wooden step section. Upon entering the site approaching the main arena area you will find toilet facilities to your right, along with spectator parking and kiosk. Over the far side of the valley we have allocated a safe zone which is cordoned off from vehicles, so families with young children can sit under the trees, have a bite to eat, knowing that their children are safe. We are trying to make off-roading more of a family event rather than just for the men. More women are driving on our site every time, which we are really pleased about and more children are coming along to Muddy Bottom 4x4 and really enjoying themselves.
Over the past few months, we have taken a great deal of time to create this new area and have individually marked each obstacle/area. The main reason for this is to make it easier for the marshals to assist in recoveries when called upon. Sadly a lot of the markers have been removed from the site, maybe as trophies!!! PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE ANY OF THESE MARKERS, THEY ARE THERE FOR A REASON AND NOT TO BE TAKEN AWAY.
Site Requirements
Vehicles MUST be fitted with front and rear recovery points and adequate off-road/mud tyres. If your vehicle is equipped with a winch, we ask that you have a winch sale (blanket) and you use heavy gloves at all times. We will soon have supplies of winch blankets and gloves that can be purchased if so desired. Adequate towing ropes must be used at all times. Anyone found to be acting irresponsibly whilst winching / recovering will be asked to leave the site.
If your vehicle is fitted with seatbelts, it is compulsory that they are worn at all times whilst on the site. All children must use seatbelts / child seats. This is for safety reasons and for the safety of others around you. Anyone not adhering to this rule will be asked to leave the site immediately.
We do reserve the right to refuse admission, if, on entry to the site, our marshals feel your vehicle does not meet the club requirements.
SPECTATORS VISITING THE SITE WILL BE ASKED TO DONATE £2.50 WHICH WE WILL BE FORWARDING A CONTRIBUTION TO OUR CHOSEN CHARITY (NEONATAL INTENSIVE CARE UNIT @ SALISBURY DISTRICT HOSPITAL)
All vehicles MUST be insured with a current MOT. Should you bring vehicles on a trailer, you may be asked to prove MOT & that you have the adequate insurance.
ALL CHILDREN MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT AT ALL TIMES, NO CHILD MUST BE LEFT UNACCOMPANIED. THIS IS FOR THEIR SAFETY. WE ARE TRYING TO ENCOURAGE MORE FAMILIES TO USE THE SITE, PLEASE HELP US TO KEEP CHILDREN SAFE AT MUDDY BOTTOM !!!!
